Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the first step to get started?
We start every project with an obligation-free phone consultation to get to know each other, understand your remodeling wishes, and determine the scope of your project.
Next up, we schedule a walkthrough to see the space and begin mapping out plans together, based on our expertise and your vision.
What is your design-build approach?
To put it bluntly, the design-build approach is every homeowner’s dream when it comes to remodeling services. No one wants to play the general manager for contractors hired to handle each trade, being caught up in tracing every process and handling any miscommunications that happen when the workers are not a full team.
With us, you have everything you need for a complete and top-quality remodel, including in-house 2D and 3D design plans, master painters, plumbers, electricians, and pretty much anything your home needs to become a source of happiness and fulfillment.
How does RenoVista stand out from other remodeling companies?
Here at RenoVista Construction, we are big on clear communication, thoughtful design, and doing things the right way. As a family-owned company, we care deeply about quality, attention to detail, and the overall experience.
We want this remodeling experience to become a pleasant memory that you look back on long after our tools are out of your property.
Do you build ADUs?
Do you offer a warranty on your work?
What is your renovation process like?
Get ready to never doubt or feel left in the dark about what goes on in your home. Our simple and efficient process navigates you through each stage of the project seamlessly, with open communication and a smile on your face.
After you reach out to us and we nail down the plans together during our on-site visit, you have the chance to make a round of changes to ensure the design is exactly how you want it.
Once design plans are approved and you decide to move forward with us, we do a pre-job walk-through and then sign the contract. We always prepare the space before starting our work to minimize mess and ensure you can keep your day-to-day routine with as few disturbances as possible.
After the work is done, we take you through a post-job walkthrough to make sure everything meets your standards, and after 6 months, we come over for another check-in to make sure everything is okay.
You can rest assured that your home will keep its newfound charm with our 5-year workmanship warranty.
How long will my remodel take?
It all depends on a wide array of factors. From the room we work in to the size and complexity of the project to the speed at which we pull permits and pass inspections. Our streamlined approach is optimized to expertly finish your project as efficiently as possible, without sacrificing quality or compliance with code regulations.
To give you an overview of our remodeling timelines, a basic kitchen remodel takes 6-8 weeks to complete, while more complex kitchen remodels take 8-12 weeks to cover every detail. For a powder room, you’re looking at 1-2 weeks of work, while a deluxe master bathroom can take about 8-10 weeks in total.
Do you handle permits for every project?
What can I expect when remodeling my kitchen?
One thing I clear up to homeowners right away before they pick up a kitchen remodeling project is to get ready for a little bit of disruption.
Not having a fully accessible kitchen comes with a few inconveniences, like figuring out how to handle meal prep and dishwashing outside your cooking space. Still, it’s nothing that can’t be sorted out and managed with a little bit of preparation.
You’re not alone in this, and there are countless solutions homeowners have figured out to make this process easier. We’ll work together with you to settle on the best solutions, and by the end of the remodel, you’ll know that it was all worth it.
How is a bathroom remodel different from other rooms?
Remodeling a bathroom is the most detailed service to get done compared to any other room in your home. Bathroom remodeling involves work with many trades (plumbing, electrical, painting, tile installation), which require a high degree of detail and close management to stay on schedule and ensure a successful result.
But you don’t have anything to worry about with us. Our team has everything you need to ensure everything is taken care of, with the level of expertise that guarantees you a functional and lasting space.
How do codes affect the remodeling process?
Remodeling your home is exciting, no matter the room or complexity of the project. However, we must keep building codes in mind throughout the project to ensure everything is approved and safe.
We’ll work in every custom aspect you wish to include in your project and balance things out when design expectations and reality of code limitations don’t intersect. You’ll get a home that’s fully yours and passes all the inspections to give you peace of mind.
Do I need to clean out my basement before the remodel?
Yes. You need to empty your basement and have it cleaned so we can start on your project right away without any obstacles.
Another important thing is to make sure you have a dry space. If your basement has humidity or groundwater issues and isn’t properly insulated, you’ll deal with mold and potential structural problems down the line.
There are also strict ventilation codes we must follow, and we can’t proceed with the remodel until we address them. When you start a basement remodel, you have to be sure there aren’t any underlying issues that could cause moisture damage for a safe and sound remodel.
